Privacy Policy

Gas Station Dance (gasstationdance.app, "we", "us") turns photos you upload into a short AI-generated video. This policy explains how we handle personal data. Questions or requests: support@gasstationdance.app.

1. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. If you sign up with email we store a hashed password, never the password itself.
• Photos you upload: the three photos you add to make a video. They show people, so they are personal data; treat them that way and only upload photos you are allowed to use.
• Generated videos: the video made from your photos, and the settings you chose (quality, format).
• Purchases and credits: which pack you bought, the amount, your credit balance and how credits were used or refunded. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach our servers.
• Usage and device data: pages visited, clicks, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, collected through analytics cookies (see section 6) and our hosting provider's request logs.
• Messages: what you send us by email.

2. How we use it

• To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• To generate your video from your photos and deliver it.
• To process payments, add, use and refund credits, and keep the records tax and accounting law requires.
• To send service emails: email verification, password resets, welcome, purchase confirmations, video ready or failed, and reminders before credits or videos expire. These are part of the service; we do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

Legal bases (for users in the EU, UK and similar regions): performing our contract with you (account, videos, credits), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the service), your consent (analytics cookies where consent is required) and legal obligations (payment records).

3. Your photos and videos

• Photos are stored privately while your video is made and are deleted automatically after the request ends, whether it succeeds or fails. Photos uploaded for a video that is never started are normally deleted within 7 days.
• To make the video, your photos are sent to a third-party AI video generation provider that processes them on our behalf. The provider's own retention rules apply to the copies it holds; according to its published policy, uploaded files and generated videos are deleted automatically within a few days to two weeks.
• Finished videos are stored privately in your account for 30 days (Single Video pack) or 1 year (Creator or Studio pack), depending on the largest credit pack you have bought, counted from when each video was made. After that they are no longer accessible. Videos are private to your account; please download the ones you want to keep.
• We do not publish your photos or videos, use them in a gallery or for advertising, or use them to train AI models.
• If you believe a video was made of you without your permission, write to support@gasstationdance.app. We will review the request and remove the content where appropriate.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run the service for us:

• Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage and sending our emails.
• AI video generation provider: makes the video from your photos (see section 3).
• Stripe: payments. Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy policy.
• Google: sign in with Google, and Google Analytics.
• Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity analytics.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

5. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, such transfers rely on the safeguards our providers make available, such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Cookies and analytics

• Necessary cookies keep you signed in and protect your session. The site does not work without them.
• Google Analytics measures visits and how pages are used.
• Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with pages (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) to create heatmaps and session replays. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on, and use your browser's tracking protection to block analytics.

7. How long we keep data

• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Photos: until the video request ends (normally at most 7 days).
• Videos: accessible for 30 days or 1 year (section 3).
• Payment and credit records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after the account is deleted.
• Emails you send us: as long as needed to answer and follow up.

8. Your rights and choices

You can update your name and password in your account settings, and delete your account there at any time. Deleting your account removes your account data, credits, videos and any stored photos, except records we must keep by law.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to support@gasstationdance.app from the email address on your account and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encryption in transit, hashed passwords and private file storage. No service is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Gas Station Dance is for adults aged 18 and over. Do not upload photos of minors. If you think a child has used the service or appears in a video, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deleting the data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and for significant changes we may also notify you by email or on the site.
